Our design philosophy is about making a residence a true home. Our goal is for our clients to love their home, have it reflect their taste, and do so at the highest level of design.
Collaboration is at the heart of good design and Lisa’s long tenure on Maui has given her the opportunity to know and work with many of Maui’s talented artists and artisans. She brings knowledge and talent to the table for each project.
Born and raised on the East Coast, Lisa has a lifelong passion for architecture, design, and art. She first studied architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design during their summer program while in high school.
In 1988, she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. The school’s unique program was based on the Bauhaus concepts that all design is interrelated and good design in any medium is based upon the same basic principles. This philosophy informs her work to this day.
Lisa moved to Maui in 1990, and began specializing in interiors at Ahura Designs in 1994. She is a Professional Member of ASID, served as a Director-at-large of the Hawai‘i Chapter, and won two ASID Awards of Honor while at Ahura.
In 2018, Lisa founded LWD Maui, specializing in residential interiors and custom designed furnishings. In 2020, she won two design Awards of Excellence, and two more in 2022.
